We operate a government contract so if there is funding available for you we will get it. If there’s not will provide you with an affordable alternative and every assistance possible so that a ‘no’ to funding is not a ‘no’ to what you want to achieve for yourself or your workforce.

We are a national training provider based in Gateshead, delivering learning programmes across many regions of England. Founded in 2002, we have developed a firm foundation that underpins our core offer to employers and individuals that is ‘we work with you to fully understand your training and development needs’. Our expertise enables us to deliver a range of learning programmes from NVQ certificates and diplomas to short courses that are designed to up-skill individuals, including English and maths.

We contract with the Skills Funding Agency to provide Workplace and Classroom based learning programmes, Apprenticeships and courses for individuals who are currently seeking employment or alternative employment. Our provision is match funded by the European Social Fund and financed by the European Union.
We are accredited by City & Guilds, Cskills Awards, NCFE, Edexcel and NPORS.

Our awards include the matrix quality standard for our information advice and guidance services. Ofsted have again judged us to be a good provider at our Ofsted inspection in February 2017.

Equality

TRAIN strives to achieve an exemplary equality policy. We have a detailed policy to provide easy to read training materials in order to meet the requirements of those who are visually impaired, have English as a second language or have learning disabilities.

We employ female staff on our Construction programmes which we have found encourages female learners into the sector and gives them the confidence to carve a career along this path.

We treat each learner as an individual and tailor training to their individual learning needs so that it is easier for them to learn. Assessors are always available to provide extra support and learners respond well to this service which encourages progression and career development.

Our philosophy is that training must lead to effective learning and development that stimulates that desire to apply that learning when back at work or when entering the labour market for the first time or perhaps when looking for a career change. We believe that people learn most effectively when they are relaxed, motivated, engaged and energised. To achieve these attributes we ensure that training programmes are fun and interactive, contemporary, inspirational and most of all, memorable.

For individuals who work towards a competency based qualification, for example an NVQ certificate or Diploma, we offer the flexibility of completing these qualifications either electronically using E-Portfolio system or paper-based. The choice is very much dependent upon an individuals preferred learning style. We make it our job to find out how learners prefer to learn and we accommodate those needs so that learning is easier and more enjoyable.
