TRN (Train) are delighted to have been placed on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP). The application process was rigorous and as much of the training we provide relies on funding allocated through the Skills Funding Agency it was crucial that we were successful in our application.
Train's Managing Director, Mark Hewitt, broke the exciting news to members of staff by saying, "As you are aware we have been waiting for the results from the Skills Funding Agency regarding our bid to apply to join the new Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP). I’m delighted to report that we have been successful in our application and we will now be included as a main provider in the first publication of the RoATP."
With effect from May 2017, the Government has introduced a Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP). The scheme has been designed to help companies find the right Apprentice for their business needs. Organisations that are listed on the RoATP have been through an application process with the SFA that considers due diligence, capability, quality and financial health to assess their ability to deliver high-quality apprenticeship training.
The Skills Funding Agency has since revealed that only 1,708 providers out of 2,327 applications made the grade, leaving the futures of 619 colleges and training providers looking extremely uncertain.
Quoted in FE Week’s report (14th March 2017), the apprenticeships and skills minister Robert Halfon said, “Giving employers control over their apprenticeships needs and funding is an essential feature of our plan to create an apprenticeships and skills nation. Our new register of apprenticeship providers will mean that only organisations that have passed our quality assurance can deliver apprenticeships. We are giving employers the confidence to do business with high quality training providers, and making sure that individuals can benefit from gold-standard routes as they climb the ladder of opportunity.”
At TRN (Train) our aim is to ensure that employers make the most of the Apprenticeship Programme. Our team will guide and advise businesses through the process of hiring and training Apprentices, accessing available funding and tailoring bespoke training packages in a blended learning environment incorporating elearning and face to face training.
