To celebrate Apprenticeship Week and TRN’s partnership with Wellburn Care Homes, TRN have compiled a shortlist of Wellburn’s star apprentices, all were nominated due to their hard work and dedication to their apprenticeship. The winner was Natalia Guitu Josu.
Natalia is working towards her Level 2 NVQ in Health and Social Care. She works nights for Wellburn Care Homes. Natalia is known by her teammates as " a machine" as she has taken on the lead role at the care home, attends all training sessions for her apprenticeship and the care home and never says no to additional hours. Her practice is exemplary and she is currently studying Maths and English to develop her skills and knowledge. Natalia has a lovely manner with the service users, staff and management, she is friendly and outgoing and a fantastic member of the care team in her workplace.
This course is a very exciting experience for me and I’m confident that it will help me to further my future career. When I started this course I was working as a care assistant for old aged people, and in particular people suffering from dementia and I decided at that point that I would like to build my career in Health and Social Care, and that joining the Apprenticeship Programme would help me to develop more knowledge, improve my skills and improve my qualifications while allowing me to gain valuable experience. I have developed many skills in making assessments for service users, administering medications and creating care plans since taking on a leadership role at Rosevale and this would not have been possible if I had not enrolled on the programme. I am really looking forward to using my leadership skills to learn how to motivate and coordinate care teams with an emphasis on diversity inclusion and safety and entering a higher programme of study.
My tutor has been very supportive of me and always gives me the support and advice that I need to meet agreed targets for achievement. She is always there whenever I need help. I am enjoying my study and I do hope with the help of my tutor, I will achieve the best results that I can.
