This course covers nationally recognised qualifications and lasts for up to 16.5 weeks depending on age group. 5 days a week Monday to Friday including a work placement doing a real job.

  • CV writing, interview preparation, job search, self discipline and interpersonal skills.
  • Help with English and Maths - ongoing support if you don’t have GCSEs A*-C Grade.

What do I need?

There are no formal entry requirements for this course; however you do need to be aged between 16 to 24, be unemployed and have been resident within the UK/EU for 3 years prior to starting the course. The training is funded if you do not already hold a level 3 qualification (or equivalent), or higher qualification.

To get started:

A course application form should be completed prior to course commencement. During induction and throughout the course you will receive information, advice and guidance on course content, career opportunities and skills development.This course covers nationally recognised qualifications and lasts for up to 16.5 weeks depending on age group. 5 days a week Monday to Friday including a work placement doing a real job.

Venue: Regional delivery.    Course time and work placement are subject to change due to employers requirements.

16-18 year olds

Traineeship duration: 16.5 weeks.
Training centre times: 9.30am to 4.00pm.
Work placement is: 195 hours.
Weeks 1 to 4: At training centre.
Weeks 5 to 12: 2 days work placement and 3 days at training centre.
Weeks 13 to 14: 5 days work placement.
Weeks 15 to 16.5: At training centre.

19-24 year olds

Traineeship duration: 14.5 weeks.
Training centre times: 9.30am to 4.00pm.
Work placement is: 120 hours.
Weeks 1 to 4: At training centre.
Weeks 5 to 12: 2 days work placement and 3 days at training centre.
Weeks 13 to 14.5: At training centre.
